‘Hunting’
ungoing project, 2019 - now
A story about Hunting
Hunting has been a significant part of both sides of my family for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by it, and it has always been a common topic of conversation because my grandfather, father, and brother are all hunters.
Some of my childhood memories are filled with unsettling images that I couldn't always make sense of, making it difficult for me to understand the practice. As an animal lover, I've never been able to comprehend why someone would take an animal's life. Because of this, I've always felt a disconnect in this aspect between me and my family.
How can I depict ‘hunting’ in a way that helps me better understand this subject, and in doing so, also understand my family? Can I find a way to soften the memories and associations from my childhood?
